In 2018, I travelled to LA as a model and stumbled across a permaculture course being offered by the LA Permaculture Institute. I'd had recently become more interested in a life that was rooted In purpose and service which may have been fuelled by the understandable emptiness of my current occupation in the fashion sector.

 

The course made me truly understand the patterns of earth and how integral our inputs are as man and stewards in these processes. It fascinated me and I truly became passionate about an holistic approach to existence generally.

 

After acquiring my short-course permaculture degree, I furthered my studies solely out of growing passion around the subject independently and eventually ended up stumbling across an opportunity to purchase land in rural Ghana.

I had a bit of savings at the time and had to make a huge decision of climbing up  the property ladder in the UK or embarking on a journey that could be incredibly beneficial to not only myself but the earth and animals alike.

After a year of going back and forth and thousands of pounds of investment, I became the proud owner of 7 acre plot in Ghana's abundant eastern region.

From 2020 i've employed everything i've learnt through study and transferred it to real tangible developments. From husbandry, companion planting and eco-building, Ive observed the pros and the cons and endeavour to be a beacon of understanding to all those wishing to employ similar practices.
